In today’s world, smartphones are not viewed as a privilege anymore, but have become a necessity for people to function daily. Not a minute goes by where smartphones aren’t being used somewhere at some time. In response to American psychologist and author Jean Twenge, I concur with her work when she posed the question “Has smartphones destroyed a generation.” Within a chapter from Twenge’s recently published book iGen, she explores the generational shifts that she observed in recent years since smartphone use has become so widespread.
