Sneakers have become more and more popular overtime. Sneakers did not seem to be too important a long time ago, but things have changed. Sneakers are very popular, and people question that statement. There is some important research about the history of sneakers, sneaker heads, and Chuck Taylor. To begin with, the history of sneakers is where it all began. Sneakers were first invented 3,000 years ago. They started to get more popular in 1830 when there was better quality sneakers unlike when they first started and people just stuck their foot in rubber. Sneaker heads is another name for people who love and have many sneakers. The term sneaker heads first began in the 1970s. People first just started buying a couple until at a time in the 1970s a lot of people turned out being sneaker heads. In the article, “Calling all Sneaker-heads”, it stated, “As sneakers became increasingly popular, collectors started scouring the markets for rare, limited- release pairs.” People that are sneaker heads, live off sneakers, sell sneakers, have sneakers, and wear them. Furthermore, many people have heard of the name Chuck Taylor, well he is the reason why converse are so popular. He had started the trend covers. He was an NBA player and soon after that, he got hired to be part of the “All Star” sales team. In the article, “Chuck Taylor: The Man Behind the Sneaker” it stated, “ He traveled the country, putting on basketball clinics and promoting Converse lines of basketball shoes.” While he was apart of that, he would critic stuff and help design certain things on the sneakers.
