Johnny Cade was forced to kill Bob Sheldon in order to save Ponyboy Curtis’s life. This incident began when Bob Sheldon and four other Socs came to the greasers’s territory (the East side of town) intoxicated. They were upset that Cade and Curtis were associating with their girlfriends. The Socs insulted Cade and Curtis, and Curtis insulted them back. This led to the Socs drowning Curtis’s head in a water fountain.
Her life turns upside down when Johnny is murdered by SEAN, another mobster. It’s made to look like Johnny and MAX killed each other, but Sammy is suspicious. She learns a young boy, CHARLIE (9), might have witnessed the shooting. She finds Charlie and hides him.
Ponyboy’s vs the Socs The fiction book the,”The Outsiders,” by S.E. Hilton tells the reader about the ongoing fighting between the west side and the east side in Tulsa Oklahoma in 1965. Hilton writes about a young greaser or east sider and his family fight against the Socs or West siders. In the novel you see ponyboy’s view of the Socs and how it evolves from the beginning of the book to the end.
Johnny Cade’s Prosecution Murder. The case I am about to present is cold-blooded murder. And in murder, no one, not the killer or the killed, is innocent. Allow me to state the facts of the case, and the events leading up to the crime.

These men were first off driving under the influence putting both their and others lives in danger. And they were angered because the Greasers were talking with their girlfriends, Which left them at the drive-in due to them drinking. Them drinking and the greasers being with their girlfriends led to a minor fight with the Socs on a street corner earlier that evening, that was stopped by Bob girlfriend. We all know that when you mix both alcohol and anger the outcome is never good.

The two boys are then so scared they run away from home for real this time. They go to a different town and hide out in a church. The boys have to change their appearance, they go back home and are not put in jail but, the two gangs get into a big rumble because Johnny killed Bob the Soc.

The Soc's kept harassing the boys and they knew a fight was about to happen. So, Jonny reached into back pocket to make sure he still had the switchblade they were lucky he had. Ponyboy clearly said something that the Soc's didn't like and they went after them. As a couple of the Soc's were kicking and beating Jonny, the remaining Soc's were trying to drown Ponyboy. He was struggling but managed to get loose.
Jonny only killed to save Ponyboy . When Ponyboy and Jonny hand ran off to the park , they stumbled across Cherry 's and Marcia 's boyfriends. They were out numbered the Socs grabbed Ponyboy and began to drown him in the park 's water fountain , with nothing left to do Jonny pulled his switchblade out and took the Soc Bob 's life . Before the rumble Ponyboy realized the difference between his gang and the Socs. “That was the difference between his gang and ours- they had a leader and were organized; we were just buddies who stuck together- each man was his own leader.(Hinton 138)”. The Socs were just a group of adolescents together for social reasons and were engaging delinquent behavior. The greasers stood up for more than that; they stood up for Johnny, for the hard times they’ve been through, for their respect.
His own girlfriend, Cherry Valance is against it although he doesn’t care and still gets crazily drunk. “His parents let him run wild” and didn’t set boundaries.
