It is a concept or idea that uses something else to show it.
In most recent discussion of the Chicago Blackhawks logo of the Native American head, one controversial issue has been that the Native American head is not racist. On the other hand, multiple resources argue that the logo is racist because it promotes a poor understanding of Native American cultures and negative stereotypes. I believe that the logo is not racist because it is remembering and honoring the Native American named Blackhawk. The Chicago Blackhawks were founded in 1926.
These symbols represent what happens to each character in the second book in the Maximum Ride series, called School's Out-Forever. The wings symbolize that the seven kids, Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel, are avian-human hybrids. The earth symbolizes that Max is supposed to save the world. The scratch marks show that Fang will fight, even when his life is at stake, in order to save his brothers and sisters. The two rings represent when Iggy found his real parents.

First, Beah’s rap cassettes symbolize his free boyhood and the loss of it. Beah carries a cassette with him until he is conscripted into the army. The cassette stays in his pocket, and acts as a reminder of his free childhood.

After watching the Maltese Falcon in class the past two days I was able to notice different symbols, elements that stood out, and different techniques used throughout the film. First, the different symbols that stood out to me were the Maltese Falcon, the different guns used, and the telephone. The Maltese Falcon symbolizes all the greed each character had within that is aroused very often. It tended to bring out the worst in people and show what evil things people are willing to do for wealth.

One example of this would be how the children all receive different things as they get older, and how each item has something to represent. A quote that shows this is “females lost their braids at Ten, and males, too, relinquished their long childish hair and took on the more manly short style which exposed their ears” (p. 46) A second symbol in the book is Jonas seeing the color red which is a very “Emotionally intense color” and symbolizes the arrival in conflicting emotions in Jonas. In the beginning with the best of intentions at heart this nation was founded and our flag stood for liberty, freedom, and justice for all. As the years have passed the meaning has shifted and molded to fit the ever changing ideology of those who call the United States home. ????
Using symbolism adds to the depth and understanding of the story, it helps you “read inbetween the lines” and develop a better understanding of the story overall. In the story there were many symbols that were used, a good one is the character, Harrison Bergeron. Harrison was George and Hazel’s son, but he was different, and wanted the world to change. He is a symbol that represents a spark of defiance and individuality that exists in some people today. Harrison is an exaggerated character, who hungers for power, and this is evident when he storms into the T.V studio and crowns himself emperor.

The hypothesis for this project was “If a soccer ball has less regulation air pressure, then the distance the ball travels when kicked will be less.” It was therefore rejected. The soccer ball with less air traveled farther than the soccer ball with more air. Also the filmmaker was trying to give the idea that a person can conquer anything that society throws at them. In addition, that you should always strive to be different.
