Dora The Explorer Dora the Explorer is a educational animated television series created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh, and Eric Weiner. The series centers around a girl who embarks on adventures with her friend Boots and of course, the audience. On these adventures, Dora and Boots encounter people who are in need of assistance.The television series is structured to encourages children to actively engage with the content through positive reinforcement. In many of the newer episodes, Dora reads stories out loud with the text highlighted so that children are able to follow along, which of course is targeted for children between the ages of five and seven. There are also other episodes that are targeted for younger children to help them learn the alphabets. For example, Dora does an alphabet scavenger hunt with the audience. When the letter is found, Dora repeats the letter multiple times and shows pictures and words that correspond to it. Although many younger children can not read, they are capable of recognizing letters and shapes. With enough practice, kids will slowly begin to build their their communication and literacy skills.
