My best friend, at the time, could never afford to go anywhere on vacation with my family and I. My parents use to have to pay for her to come with us. Her mother didn't work and her father was retired military, so they didn't really have any money. We would take her on cruises or pay for her to go to amusement parks. Also, when I was younger, middle school, my friends and I would make fun of other kids who were wearing off brand clothing. Which now that I look back at it, I sound like some of the people off of the clips we had to watch and I don't like that one bit. Ehrenreich wouldn't have been able to do this experiment if she were a minority. She said that managers would rather hire a white person over a minority because of this she got higher paying jobs faster and easier. I think that in todays economy she would've had a tough time finding a job because of how bad our economy is doing. Overall, social class and social structure rule the world we live in today.
