My husband's side of the family is italian, and when he was younger, he used to go out and shoot a pig in the back yard, then go pick chicken eggs from the coup. The the next day he would be in the dining room next to all his cousins and uncles eating the bacon from the same pig he shot with a side of eggs and black coffee. Then he would go out and ride horses and herd cattle while his grandmother was cooking in their kitchen with steam rolling out the windows and coffee brewing for afternoon espresso. Italians go out of their way to make people feel good and have conversations with you. Under the tuscan sun a book i read in studying this topic .A farmer had just showed up to the market with a truck load full of grapes for making wines and or selling and just offered her a crate of harvest , Its part of who they are. Examples of social customs could be If you’re invited to dinner by an Italian family wich i read in the article “Social customs in ItalyTraditions and habits:” you should take along a small present of flowers, pastries or chocolates.One thing thats for sure tho if your exused from a table in an italians home, you wont be invited back for dinner. We not only believe that time is a precious commodity,but we use and waste it. Reading and studying the italian culture it seems that Italia is a culture that Has strong likelihood to maintain long lasting friendships and maintain them.italians seem to enjoy the value of life a lot more than americans,If something isn’t done this minute, it can be done the next. These people do not see time as concrete or controllable. There are things to be done, but they’ll get done but in the mean time , how many time this week have you looked up when your walking from place to place just to enjoy the leaves or the color of the blue
