I am interviewing a 22 years old French man, Paul, who has been doing an ERASMUS-exchange in Freiburg. He is doing his masters in law and has been staying for about ten months in Freiburg. Paul comes from southeast France from a relatively small community with a big family. His home is close to nature surrounded by mountains. Such factors certainly affect on his views, opinions and experiements. I think he has grown in a more collective society compared to me, what affects for example on his view of relationships. I would not descripe Paul as a stereotypical law student, but as a stereotypical French yes. Since he is the first French person with whom I have changed many words my stereotypes of France do not have a very solid ground. What comes to my topic, body language, there is no one right way to understand it. Through different experiences everyone has an own idea of body. Body can be many things: a tool, source of pleasure or an obstacle, for instance. There are big differences on how people use their bodies between people living in different areas of a country, between older and younger generations and between different social classes, without mentioning the individual differences, which come from the education and surroundings. My target group is students and young adults, and since Paul is a law student I will mainly use law students in Grenoble, in the city where he studies, as examples. Worth to mention is also, that Paul feels that the experience he has undergone in the exchange year has changed his vision of communication and meeting new people. He has gained more cultural consciousness, is now more aware of cultural dissimilarities and has a better ability to accept both cultural and individual
