A child’s family and friends can either keep them away from crime or allow them to be involved. When these children grow up in a hostile or negligible environment they will turn to their friends for support. If these friends are not guiding them to do the right thing they are more vulnerable to criminal behavior. Positive role models are crucial in the building of a child’s moral compass. Children with something to look forward to will be less likely to engage in criminal behavior.
Romeo Vitelli, Ph.D., a psychologist in private practice in Toronto, Canada, cites “A new research study published in the journal Psychology of Media Culture takes a comprehensive look at different risk factors of violence, including playing video games. Whitney de Camp of Western Michigan University used data taken from the 2008 Delaware School Survey to assess violence risk in 6567 Grade Eight children. Students were asked about violent and pre-violent behaviour, i.e., “hit someone with the intention of hurting them,” “take some kind of weapon to school or to a school event,” and “carry a gun when you’re not in school.” “According to the study results, playing violent video games didn 't appear to be related to any of the violent behaviours that the researchers examined. For both males and females, the two factors most successful in predicting risk of hitting someone in the previous year were seeing or hearing violence at home and being high in sensation-seeking.”
Violent video games have been blamed for everything from bullying to school shootings. Critics of these video games believe they cause people to commit violent acts in real life. These critics, mainly comprised of parents and other responsible adults, don’t agree with what the video games portray. Others say the video games cause less violence and are an outlet for anger and stress. Although violent video games have violent actions in them, teenagers should be able to play violent video games because there isn’t enough evidence to prove they make teens more aggressive, it could prevent violence, and violent video games are a fun and relaxing way to relieve stress and anger.
The cause of violent action in the real world are not caused by violent video games. Violent video games have been around since 1976. There was a rating system put into place to let people know what was in the game they were buying. There is research and studies that prove violent video games have nothing to do with crimes all around the world. Even though there are people and politicians who believe that violent video games lead to violent behavior, the research and studies show that that is not the
More often than the public likes to believe, “social promotion” has become a fairly large part of education, specifically early and high school education. Every year, many children throughout the nation are being moved on to the next grade level without passing the previous education level. Over all, “social promotion” is doing more harm than good for various reasons. One of the main arguments of “social promotion” is pride against ability. A large group of people believe that retention hurts children’s self-esteem and makes them more likely to drop out of high school.
Homeschooling is an educational option that allows parents to teach their children at home instead of sending them to public schools. It is held that "homeschooled children now number 1.2 million in the United States and the number is steadily growing" (Farris, 1997, p. 4). Ray (cited in Mirochinck & McIntyre, 1991). Some Parents believe that sending their children to public schools in which qualified teachers are responsible for educating them is beneficial .However, other parents believe that it is better for their children to be educated at home by people who know their needs. In this paper, I intend to argue with educating children at home.
It is often seen that positive rewards and lack of punishment for aggressive behaviours reinforces aggression in a person. There is a significant correlation between viewing violent television and aggression later in life, as well as playing violent video games and aggressive behaviors. The role of observational learning has also been cited as an important factor in the rise of rating systems for TV, movies, and video games. This is seen in the case of violent games such as Counter-Strike which provide the gamers with the option of choosing the side of the Terrorists which has been proved to influences gamers towards violent tendencies and even situations where children have in the presence of fire arms in an attempt to recreate game have in fact killed each other or even hurt themselves on numerous occasions. It has even been seen that games like Call Of Duty and Mortal Combat has also increased the violent tendencies in children.
In the world today about 264 plus million children are being denied access to free education, according to Global Campaign for Education-civil society movement. Up to 80 percent of the world's out of school 5 to 18 year olds live in the sixty-five countries that a similar, more modern organization, Global Partnership for Education, is associated with. These are the children that are going to be leading and populating their own countries eventually so if have no education, how can they make logical decisions for the benefit of their country and the world? Education is globally recognized as a human right according to a number of international conventions. In all highly developed countries most people would claim education should be free for children worldwide yet a quarter of a billion children are denied education.
There are games that literally replicate and give people the ability to score points for doing the very same thing that these students are doing inside schools, where you get extra points for finishing someone off who’s lying there begins for their life.” ( 6) There are several ideas that say young people benefit from these violent video games “Surprisingly, playing video games can help our physical, mental, and emotional health.” It helps them to improve hand eye coordination and thinking ability. These benefits are not worth the risk of being influenced by violent video games. (7) All in all the research and officials say that violent video games affect how children, teenagers and young adults act.
Peer pressure is quite the controversial matter today. It is the feeling that someone your own age is pushing you toward making a certain choices, good or bad.(The Cool Spot). The level of peer influence generally increases as children grow and it has become an important influence on behavior during adolescence. Many researches and surveys have been done to find the answer to the question whether peer pressure is beneficial or harmful for teenagers. While Karcher &Finn (2005) claimed that peer pressure is the biggest factor result in bad behavious of adolescents; Bukowski (1998) and Salvy (2011) argued that pressure from peers can bring amazing benefits for them.
According to Dr. Banerjee (2015) students gives more ideas about the task assigned to them in collaborative learning process. Each student has a very important role in having a collaborative work. Learning is what students “do” and not what they “get” as passive receivers. The teachers are the facilitators of the students and not the “giver” of knowledge. Through this process the students learn not by being fed the information, but rather giving their own insights on a certain topic as well as the insight of others.
Declared in The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UN, 1948), education is recognized as a fundamental human right and a key component contributing to the development of societies. Yet there are many people on earth have not been able to get educated. In order to solve the problem, it is proposed that all education (including primary, secondary and higher education) should be free all over world and governments should be those funding the tuition fees. This paper critically hightlights the significances and also rebut the objection of free education. Before further analysis, the writer is going to point out some definitions and add facts and figures.
Some researches admit that violent games may cause adolescents to become tremendous. Studies showed that video games increase psychological awakening, it could also increase aggressive behavior, emotions and thoughts and finally let teenagers lose the sense of helping others. All these effects will be carried by aggressive young people. It’s true that video games are violent, but aggressive adolescents are more likely to be more attracted to it. Some games reward players for doing violent actions, so this will affect them negatively, letting them think that violence is normal.
That is true. You will be more aggressive and violent than before after you play the violent video game, but, you won’t notice that. Although it is not true for everyone, ultimately, my point is the violent video game can contribute to youth violence. How could it be possible to let teenage crime by playing the violent video game? Are they just playing the violent
