Shut Down Technology In the article Social Media as Commuity by the author Keith Hampton states that “have found that americans have fewer intimate relationships today than 20 years ago…”(Hampton,4)This is just one example that we as humans have shut down our capability to talk and communicate with others face to face. But others may be saying that they do communicate with others. But are they communicating with them on phones. In schools especially children are relying on technology way too much,they are consuming way too much technology on an average day, and they are not communicating, even if two people are in the same room. Gardner Middle School should take place in “National Shut Down Your Screen Week”. First children are not willing to talk to another person even if their in the same room. The child would most likely take out his or her cell phone and start texting a colleague.
