Deviance is defined as actions that deviate from the expected social norms and behaviors of a given society. I do not believe that one's actions are inherently deviant, and what people consider as deviance varies among different groups of society. I believe that people feel uncomfortable with groups such as goths, punks, gypsies, etc. because they differ from what that individual would classify as normal behavior. For example, the video we watched with Marilyn Manson today in class, the majority if not all of the class felt as if the behaviors in the video were abnormal. Perhaps the video is trying to express that it's ok to be different, and that you don't have to follow the social norms that have been placed before you. These different groups
