A socially responsible member of American Society is required to take the actions that can help and affect the society and not just the citizen themselves. The society should be changed and helped in a positive manner and also benefit others more than oneself. The protection of others should always be on top and every other object should be under that so a citizen is actually a socially responsible member of American Society. American Society wants the people to come up with new ideas and in order to do that the society has to be stable and controlled. A decision made by a person who is very socially responsible and respects it will always be reasonable and reliable. Starting the kids when they are in their mid-teens is a mistake, because “an adolescent must begin early … to gain feelings of competency regarding their individual actions “ (Polk 1). If a kid is started young, then their mind is set to the right direction with a leadership mindset and also helps them to be an active and responsible member of their larger social community. Leaders of the community have the duty to embrace the principle of personal responsibility on their own, with “a clear commitment to ethics, and compliance with rules, laws and regulations” (Greczyn Jr. 6). Without leadership in the American Society, “cultural changes; political changes; technology changes; military changes” (Greczyn Jr. 5) would not have occured.
