A crime is a wrongdoing that is harmful to not only an individual but also to a community. Criminal activity is looked at as a public wrong in a lot of places. Such acts are considered to be for forbidden and punishable by law (Wikipedia) once a crime has been established the crime is then defined by the type of crime that was committed and then punished by the correct corresponding statues and also by the common law rules. A few ways that criminals can be punished for committing crimes are by going to jail, being placed under house arrest, being placed on probation or even having to do community service on the side of the freeway. There are children today in this world that go to school with a gun and start shooting up their classmates. I believe that this happens because these individuals have been the target of bullying. An individual can only be bullied and segregated for so long before they will start to have negative thoughts and soon and a negative outburst. I also believe that sociological crimes are crimes that can be prevented by properly socializing and supervising children. Supervising children is a must I think as I feel as though if more parents paid attention to how their children interacted with or lack of interaction with other children could be addressed early on it would be very beneficial for the child. Another type of sociological crime that is happening here in our society today is unequal opportunities between groups. When people go without they start to want what they don’t have so they go out and steal the items that they can have it. Society should think about increasing legitimate opportunities for advancement and wealth in the area that need 's
