Throughout the course of history the written word has been very influential to the thought process of mankind. Through this time we have seen an innumerable amount of authors that have had large impacts on the thought process of society as a whole. Three authors that have impacted the thought process of mankind during their time have been Socrates and his thoughts on humanism, Heinrich Kramer and James Sprenger with their idea of gender roles, and lastly, Martin Luther King Jr. with his ideas on “the other” and racial equality. Each of these authors used methods in order to support the point that they wanted to convey. Although each author discusses different topics, they can all be tied together in one distinct way, which is the methods that they used to convince others of their beliefs.
In the time period of Classical Greece there was a wide variety of ideas and concepts that were being discussed by the higher class members of society. This time period began in roughly 490 BCE and lasted until 404 BCE and was capped off on both ends by the Greco Persian War and the Peloponnesian War respectively. The most obvious difference between all of the authors that were discussed within this paper is that each of them were writing in a different time period in which different things were not only acceptable, but also the social norm of their particular era. Another key element that makes each of these authors widely different is the idea that each of these authors discussed a completely different topic and that there are no truly close ways to tie what any of them are talking about to another. Lastly they all discuss their personal opinions on their respective issue with different levels of conflict on the subject. However, each of these authors can be tied very closely together in a wide variety of
