I agree with what Socrates is trying to say in his defense against the council. Socrates believes that we truly have to understand ourselves in order to find the true meaning in life. I believe that this claim stands true because if you aren’t sure about what things in life make you happy and what things you want to get in life then your ambitions might not be in the right place. Throughout his whole defense Socrates doesn’t once admit that he believes he’s at fault. Socrates instead tries to clear up some of the rumors and false thoughts that were spread about him. He tries to show the council that what he is saying isn’t to offend anyone but some logical thoughts that he came to. An example could be people facing severe adversary like Martin Luther King Jr. MLK head to face lots of challenges and lots of scary factors in order to achieve his goal of equality for people of color. Martin Luther King Jr, I feel, understood himself and what he wanted to achieve in life which helped make him a force to be reckoned with. Anyone with this type of motivation to achieve what they want in life can eventually achieve their goals and they can have a powerful influence on those around them. Applying this idea to current times we have groups of people who are against Trumps beliefs and we have groups of people who are pro-Trump. In both groups, we see people who have a strong will to achieve their goals which makes this current battle between two groups of people hard. Both groups of people have an agenda lead by people who truly understand themselves and what they want which makes it very difficult for one to come out on top. All though there are multiple arguments against some of Trumps polices, it’s very difficult to get everyone to agree because there’s other groups of people who are completely set on accepting and implementing Trumps
