The Greasers struggle more than the Socs because they are faced with more problems than the Socs. There is clear evidence the Greasers struggle more than the Socs because the Greasers made sacrifices and are exposed to violence. The Socs struggle because they are forced to commit violence while the Greasers are faced with financial problems to solve. Because of the Sacrifices the Greasers made and the violence they are exposed to, the Greasers struggle more than the Socs. The Greasers had to make many sacrifices to help each other survive. Johnny killed bob at the park when he and and Bob’s friends tried to down Ponyboy; To save Ponyboy, Johnny had to kill Bob. This shows that the Greasers had to protect themselves from people to stay safe and not die. This is important because the Greasers are forced to make these sacrifices to stay alive. This is how the Greasers are struggling more than the Socs. The Greasers are exposed to violence than the Socs making it hard for them to sustain themselves. When Ponyboy was walking home, he got ambushed by a group of socs and almost got hurt. This shows that the Greasers are faced with more violence than the Socs. This is important because the Greasers have to go through life-threatening experiences from the violence they face. “His white T-shirt was splattered with blood. I just stood there, trembling with sudden cold. I thought he might be dead; surely nobody could be beaten like that and live” (Page 32). This shows that Johnny was nearly beaten to death by the Socs and was in a bad shape. This is important because the Greasers are exposed to this violence that would’ve got them killed. These are the violences that
