There were a couple suggestions/solutions to the “Negro problems” in W.E.B. DuBois writing. The first suggested solution was to assume that the working class of dark workers be considered equal to the European and American whites. The process of setting free millions of dark workers took place in the West Indies, North, and South America and parts of Africa. Although the Negroes were allowed partial citizenship, little education, and some rights to the wages they earned, the only recognized independence was in Haiti and Liberia. This does not seem fair with what the other people are facing. The second suggestion was for the dependence of natives in certain industries in countries. These types of industries included rubber and ivory collecting, cocoa raising, and diamond mining. This was called “forced” labor and this is what helped the modern industry …show more content…

The fourth solution says that Negroes differ from whites in their inherent genius and stage of development. Their education must be sought along their own native lines. No matter the policies set in place today, this assertion by DuBois allows us to understand that all of these suggestions have one reason behind them. The reason behind everything was to use all people and the land for the benefit of white Europe, not for the benefit of the people. All changes made are to benefit the Europeans, whether it is education, politics, or industry. Everything is changed to benefit the white Europeans, including religion, education, and politics, and allows the full advantage over the Negroes in any way possible. There is no single thought or opinion from the Negroes today, but there are areas growing and touching edges that have occurred. On this issue, the Negroes sense of community has grown.
