My project on monotheistic religions bases itself on the aspect and influence gender roles in Islam and Judaism has on their followers and comparing the two of the religions. I researched the question “how do gender roles differ in the two religions?” and found that both Islam and Judaism have very similar bones to their gender laws or roles but also some differences in origins. Islamic gender roles put emphasis on the idea of stereotypical gender roles; women stay home to cook, clean, look after her children, and keep her husband happy. The most ideal Islamic wife is stripped of her socioeconomic status, status with the family, health decisions, independence, freedom, and rights. This however is not expressed in the Qur’an.
Growing up my family was not wealthy, but I was very fortunate my father was a hard-working man with high morals and values. Being an immigrant of the state, he quickly learned he needed to make an income for himself. Very few places would hire him and give him above minimum wage salary. Therefore, he builds his own business as an electric repair man. Obtaining the skills, he had learned as a boy in his hometown helped my father become successful in his small business.

First, education is one key component to reaching my success. Without furthering my education, I will not be marketable in the career field I desire, which is accounting. After colonisation, it was attempted to be eradicated by Somali nationalists. Additionally, it was one of the key factors in the lead up to the Somali Civil War which broke out in 1991.Clannishness can be defined as a means ‘used to describe members of a group of people or society who are friendly to each other, but not to people outside the group’. However, in Somalia, clanship is hierarchical and has caused conflict and violence.
When you hear the word family, people automatically think that it’s a small group that is contains one or two parents and their children. Family doesn’t always mean your blood relatives, it can also be different combinations of other families, neighbors, coworkers, friends, complete strangers and even your friend’s family can become part of your family. Basically family can be anyone that you share a strong bond with. I have two different types of families, my 911 family and my entire family. My 911 family is like my go to, they mean everything to me the people that I know will always be there for me when I need them, like my parents and my siblings.
According to Dictionary.com, family means a group of persons who form a household under one head, including parents, children, and servants. According to Google family means, all the descendants of a common ancestor. As one can see, there are many different meanings to family. To me family means support, dysfunctional, love, and friendships. Family is the most important influence on a child’s life.
They have always encouraged me to do my best and strive for the best, they have always supported my positive decisions, and they have always helped me when I’ve been in trouble. My family has been there for me and each other through thick and thin, and I really love them. Their advice, support, and encouragement have incited me to endeavour for the highest possible achievements. My family is my major influence as they have affected my life from the very start of my life in everything I do.
No matter what the circumstances were my parents worked wherever for however long to give us the life we deserved. When my siblings and I were little, my mom would stay home and take care of us and my dad worked two jobs. My mom always told me that my dad would never complain about working, just as long as he could afford to keep a roof over our head and food on the table, he was happy. My father would even come home late nights play with us and I loved every moment of it. As my siblings and I got older my mom went back into the workforce and just like my dad would work as long as she could every day.
