1a. The somatic nervous system controls motions that can voluntarily control the body’s skeletal system. An example of this would be the the somatic nervous system reporting to my brain that I need to kick a soccer ball to score a goal. The somatic nervous system will carry he instructions from the brain back and trigger my foot and leg to kick the ball and score a goal. The autonomic nervous system has control over involuntary acts of the body. This would be the glands and muscles of the internal organs that control the beating heart. For instance, I could eat a piece of undercooked steak from a restaurant. The body could decide that it wants to reject it. The autonomic system would send the message from the stomach to the brain. I remember when my sympathetic nervous system was activated on Sunday when I sang my solo in church. I had been nervous and excited for this opportunity, as it was the first time I sang a solo in college. When the time came for my song, my heart started beating very quickly, my palms became wet with sweat, my vision became clearer, and my body became hot. My mind became blank, and, at that very moment, I only knew my lyrics, my notes, and the keys. As I was singing, I was shaking a bit in my hands, but as the song progressed I cooled down so that I could continue. I was looking for the audience reaction and making myself even more nervous, which made my palms sweat even more. I felt much better after the solo had ended because I no longer had to worry. My palms because to dry up, my heart stopped racing, and my body’s temperature went down. 1c. My pathetic nervous system reacted when I was having a panic attack. I tend to overthink quite a bit. When I do so, I make myself worry, and, sometimes, I worry so much I pass out. The pathetic system calms the body down when it is under a stressful situation. The body tries to go back to homeostasis through the pathetic system. When My heart is racing and shaking uncontrollably during panic attacks, the sympathetic system is active. Nevertheless, to calm my body down, before anything drastic occurs, my heart will slow down. During this time, I will need a seat, and a spot of tea to calm me
