Music, is an essential part of (most of) our lives. Out of the many genres of music everyone has their favorite, and most of us feel that our tastes are superior to the rest. Male and female artists alike have little to no respect for the “fairer gender” in their music. Take Miss Nicki Minaj for example. Two of her most popular songs are “Stupid Hoe” and “Anaconda”. I know, I know, the title says it all but, what’s worse is that there are millions of people in the world who follow her and what she says in these “raps”. And this is a big concern because this kind of trend is affecting young people globally and well, frankly speaking, making them dumber.

Thanks to Justin Beiber, Miley Cyrus and many other mainstream “artists”, swag is a real thing now. Back in the days of Mick Jagger, swagger was cool. But now the modernized version of it has turned into a virus which caused an epidemic among a huge chunk of thirteen-sixteen year olds around the world. Swag is not limited to just clothes and hashtags now, it’s a life moto for some.
Even though there are sort of anti-swag memes floating all around the internet, the vaccine hasn’t been fully effective because of the influence mainstream pop/hip-hop music has on young minds. Also, swag and YOLO make people more prone to breaking the law out of sheer thrill. But they’re just following the footsteps of their rich musical role models.
