Ever done something that you regret after you do it? Ray Bradbury's story “A Sound of Thunder” is about a time travel safari hunt. The main character “Eckels” gets on the time machine and goes back to the past. During his hunt, he gets scared of the first dinosaur he sees and gets off the trail he was supposed to stay on the entire time. When he gets back from the path he notices that the future changed dramatically. An important theme in the story “A sound of thunder” is been smart today so you don’t cry tomorrow. This theme is brought up Bradbury’s story of a time travel safari hunt. This is proved by Eckel's getting off the path and not shooting the dinosaur. Eckel's gets back and the future is changed because he kicked up some dirt. Travis explaining how a small thing in the past can lead to a huge thing in the future.
