I always used to tell people that I wanted to study something that it is related to medicine but not medicine itself. The only option that was available for me is nursing and I loved that option. To be honest, I have always imagined myself as being nurse and when I used to tell people that they would tell me that it would suits me so much. One day I went to my friend’s house and her sister was there and we started talking about college and which majors I'm interested in and I explained my point to her that I wanted something related to medicine and then she introduced speech language pathology to me. I had never heard about this major in my life and when I read about it after I got home I realized that this is what I have been looking for …show more content…
Therefore, I chose this major because I want to make difference and to change others’ life for better. I would love to work with children only, because I admit that I have some communication problems that it will might interfere with my work in the future if I worked with adults. However, I know that I will be able to get over this problem in the following years especially during the practicums and the internship year. I don't want to work with infants at all because I find it very boring since they are less challenging and requiring less work. I'm very interested in neurogenic disorders more than the other felids in speech language pathology. in this field, I know that I will meet a lot of people with different causes or illness of communication disorders and that what will make my work very interesting and challenging. Therefore, I want to work in hospitals since all the interesting cases will be found more there than in private
