I want you to imagine you woke up this morning and was worried about whether you were going to get to have water. Imagine you also had a family you had to take care of, what would you do? How would you react if this happened every single day? For my Passion Project this year I worked with Nurai Arafa and we believe that water is something every living thing should have a right to. Sadly, many people don’t have this right, even in our country. My goal for the Passion Project this year is to spread awareness about the lack of water in the world, raise money to help people in the world get water, and provide at least 10 people with clean water. The first two and half quarters of the year was focused on raising money and spreading awareness to third world country struggles, specifically water in South Asia. I have so far read two books and will be starting another one soon, it is called Your Water Footprint. One lady we talked was a U.S. Veteran when we started to talk to her, she talked about her experiences from when she was in the force. This woman was really nice and she knew a lot about the cause and helped us broaden our knowledge on the topic. This lady was also one of the first people we talked to so, her kindness really helped to make us less nervous. From my volunteering efforts I learned that raising money (even if it is for a very important cause) it harder than it may seem. I also learned that when you make a quick speech you shouldn’t make it too long. When Nurai and I did our fundraiser, we started with a really long speech and went to this guy’s door, when we gave him our speech it was about 5 minutes long. By the time we talked to the last person, the speech was about 2 minutes
