While spotify is a great way to advertise, she would get way less income due to the charges and wouldn’t be as exclusive in the market place. Taylors new album is off limits to strategies such as quantity discounts and versioning. An example of versioning in this situation would be if Taylor sold singles of this album before the album release or if she sold half versions of the songs at half price. Since the album is the only good that Taylor is truly concerned with, its easy for her to say no to any sort of two-part tariff
Nowadays, record labels and artists cannot persuade listeners to ‘buy’ their music. It is believed that the aspect of music has changed due to the popularity of music streaming. Allen (2013) agreed by stating that music streaming has changed the view of people in the industry of music. For example, popular music streaming services such as Spotify and Pandora and a number of new music streaming applications provide the easiest way for listeners to enjoy music freely without having to do illegal downloading or buying a CD. Likewise, Listeners have the ability to choose the music they want to listen.
The radio stations could also have competing artist and his/her manager would likely be willing to pay more to get that artist more airplay. As mentioned by J. Charles Sterin, the industry leaders could reduce their risk by choosing highly marketable
Artists should use their music in advertising because they will be able to make larger sums of money in addition to gaining popularity. A important reason artists should put their music in ads is because they will be able to make more money. According to Carter, data journalist David McCandless says that "a signed solo artist would need about 5,478 iTunes downloads of a song per month versus 4,200,000 YouTube streams per month just to make the U.S. minimum wage." This clearly shows that artists do not make enough money from just streaming music. As people move more toward music streaming, artists will continue to earn less money.

Every person will have different perspectives, thus each of the historians will have different outlooks of how they view the findings and what they assume progressivism is. Therefore, this essay will work to exemplify what I think triggered the progressive movement in the United States. Musicians trying to increase the number of listeners, try to release a song almost every week, their promoters pay radio stations to stream their songs. Modern musicians of electronic music became popular artists. And that's the issue. Initially, as mentioned earlier, popular music, due to the lack of resources, took inspiration from underground, where each song was a separate state of art. DJs were not seeking that their songs would be played on the radio or broadcast on television.
Do you support the use of an artist’s music advertising? Yes, I think artist should advertise their music. The reason I say artist should advertise their music because it will get them a bigger fan base. I support that artist should be able to advertise their music. When you advertise the music it benefits the artist but also the person their fans and supporters.
I think streaming is great because the artists get paid enough and it reduces piracy. Music is great why shouldn't we get it at a affordable price. Spotify pays artists. CEO of spotify says that streaming services make artists money. Streaming gives the artists money while piracy gives the artist no money no matter how many times it has been downloaded or listened to.
As stated in the article "Selling Out Not Worth the Risk" some bands try and make money by going with companies like Apple, Amazon or Spotify, but all this comes with a price and it can be the reason people drop out of the music business completely. Starting off with the stress the artist need to make music that is good and appealing to the most amount of people possible and make the song looks impressive or looks like something people would want to see. It takes a lot of energy to make a song and then have to make some sort of appearance for the song it can be extremely stressful for song writers and they don't even try and think of the song anymore they just think of the money. Take Justin Bever for example he used to play songs when he was younger to have fun and he wanted people to enjoy them but now he is just throwing together whatever he can so he doesn't get fired or replaced and judging by what kind of person he has become it says something.
Although music was sold in hard copies like DVDs for a reasonable price now people can just download music for free on any device. Now, that might truly affect the artist as if their whole career depends on services like Spotify.
Some advertisers aim to give minimal amount of information about the product in their ads and concentrate more on the other attracting factors and tools of persuasion, and the main reason behind this is to leave consumers with a pleasant feeling towards the product (J. Alpert & M. Alpert, 1990). David Allan (2006) extended the limited research on how the addition of popular music in advertisements has significant effects on the attention and the memory of the possible buyers (p. 434). Popular music and top music hits are mostly known all around the world, which makes it more favourable and catchy. Advertisers use popular music and songs in various ways, in order to engage and completely persuade consumers with their product or service.
