In 610 CE A man named Muhammad was outside of a cave meditating and soon began hearing voices. As he listened he heard them say “Give birth to a religion called Islam.” Islam began to spread faster than any other religion. Other religions disagreed with this because they didn’t want to believe that Islam was bigger and better than their religion. After about 140 years, many followers of Islam had created an empire that ruled the Middle East and spread across to North Africa to Europe.
There are five noteworthy religions throughout the world, the most recent of these is Islam. Islam is a religion that spread rapidly from the Middle East into Asia, Africa, and Europe. Despite the fact that there are many reasons that Islam spread quickly, there are three principle reasons. First, the many trade routes that went through Islam's holiest cities. Next, Islam was an extremely engaging religion to others.
Islam Islam is the fastest and second largest religion in the world. Islam started with a prophet named Muhammad. Muhammad was a local merchant in Mecca went to a cave named Mt. Hira in Arabia to meditate. There, he encounters an archangel named Gabriel who squeezed out of him saying, ”Allah is one god.” Then after, he started telling his family members but stood silent since no one listened.
Islam was created by Muhammad through Allah. At first it was a very hated concept. Many years later it would flourish into a loved religion and it would spread very fast. Three of the main reasons that Islam spread were all the merchants and their trade,it’s great and powerful army,and the way how it treated the conquered people differently. The main reason that Islam spread fast was because of their trade routes.
Islam went from a couple of people to all of Arabia, North Africa, Spain and South Asia. It all started when Muhammad visited a cave to pray. He thought the people of Mecca were to greedy. An angel came to the cave and made Muhammad speak Allah’s words. Allah was the monotheistic god, for Islam.
The Islamic Empire expanded rapidly around the period 600 C.E. to 1300 C.E. The Islamic expansion occurred through military raids, Jihad, tolerance, stipends and taxes. After Muhammad's death, in 632 C.E., the rise Islam overtook Afro-Eurasia. Muslim warfare was set for defeat, but became matchless and unconquerable. The battle between the Muslims and Greeks, the Muslims were presented as having no match against Greeks military shown in Doc A. As it states, “In this battle 24,000 Muslims took part,” (Doc A).
Islam is a religion that was established by a man named Muhammed and means ‘submission.’ As sources say, an angel approached Muhammad while he was meditating in a cave; and told him about the word of Allah, the only God. After Islam was born, and the word of the angel was the beginning of the Qur’an. Islam was established as a monotheistic religion, as Muslims would only believe in one God, and was first preached by Muhammad. Islam grew, and eventually, the first Muslim community was developed in Medina, a city in Saudi Arabia.

He gained many followers but eventually dies in the city of Mecca. By that time his religion already grew at an extensive amount, and soon Muslim empires were created, which extended Islam's political and religious power. Many factors such as trade routes and the person named Mansa Musa, contributed an enormous amount to the spread of Islam throughout parts of Asia, North and West Africa, and parts of Europe. The Islamic Empires did a lot of work themselves to help spread their religion.

In America, Muslims only make up about 1% of the population, however, a survey put the global muslim population at a shocking 1.6 billion, adding up to roughly 23% of the global population. Christianity reached a total of 2.2 billion followers, encompassing only 32% of the population, while Judaism fell far behind with only 14 million and a devastatingly low 0.04%. Originating in the seventh century in Mecca, the powerful religion has seen rapid growth over the years. Innovative ideas in economics, religion, and science made the religion unique from others in the past and allowed for this spread.
Every year thousands of Muslims from the Islamic religion make the journey to the city of Mecca, called a Hajj. This is the city where their founder, Muhammed, was born and a major center of commerce. Every person in the Islam religion is expected to make this travel at least once in their lifetime. The experience is one of the fiver pillars of the religion and is supposed to bring together the Muslims from across the world in unity. This year during the Hajj there was a stampede that caused a deadly killing of 717 people.
