I plan to contribute as an active participant within the Living Learning program by attending study groups and help other with my finding/ recommendations. As a Regents’ scholar, I plan to exhibit the values and friendliness of a great community member. I will be actively involved in events and programs geared towards the community goal. I expect to interact with my fellow students daily, and bring the attitude and character of what Texas A&M stands for. I will participate in as many events as my schedule will allow to create a better sense of community and maybe find a life long friend.

Every Resident Advisor (RA) answers the on-call phone with a bit of apprehension, but when the caller tells you that they are concerned that their friend may hurt herself physically, all your nerves stand on edge. It was this experience and others like it that reaffirmed my decision to pursue a career in the Healthcare field with a specific interest in mental health. My life’s journey began on a small multiracial island where we believed and practiced “every creed and race find an equal place,” these words taken from our country’s national anthem. In our multicultural society, religion played a large role in influencing the societal norms and practices which were of a conservative nature.

The Japanese living on the west coast was placed in concentration camps. The type of concentration camp was just like being in prison, and the Japanese did get fed. The Japanese people were not trusted by the military because they were at war with the Japanese. Since the US was at war with the Japanese the military felt as though it would be beneficial to put the Japanese in concentration camps, to protect US citizens from terrorist attacks. The Constitutional issue is that it does not say anywhere in the Constitution that you cannot arrest someone because they are Japanese.
The strong Lutheran foundation at Valparaiso University that prepares students to lead and serve in the community. In addition to the church, and society offers me the opportunity to pursue a Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree. The university's foundation and family-centered focus make it a great place for work-study. Although no one ever suggested that my journey to become a Registered Nurse would turn out to be a faith-based journey, I transitioned from Medical Assistant to Registered Nurse in 2017. I enrolled in an LPN program with only 12 weeks until graduation, but the school closed with no further information.
I want to be a physician because I want people to grow old. At the age of 6, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with leukemia. By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. We see the process of aging and choose not to embrace it.
What Virginia Woolf is striving for and how she accomplishes it is showing the reader to respect death and the power it has over nature and that it is simply part of the life cycle. She creates this effect by using the story of a moth dying as the idea, but then interjecting her own thoughts and observations she uses short phrases that allow for observation, she leaves you with room to consider your own thoughts on death. The words and sentences are arranged for impact, they start off long and have a nice rhythm and the sentences become shorter as the moth begins to die. She uses this effective because the awaiting death of the moth seems to consume Woolf's thoughts; her focus is now on the dying animal and not on long, flowy sentences. Virginia
My passion for helping and supporting those whose economic and financial standings have hindered their growth in our society, has driven me towards social work. I feel I have exhausted every possible avenue in my current degree field. In this course I discovered to better understand the beliefs of others and understand how what you do can impact others. Self-awareness is a huge part of it is having a clear perception of your personality, including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. Self-Awareness allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and your responses to them in the moment. Motivating others requires making others feel understood, leadership is not just a cliché about leading by example or other vague tenet, it involves more interaction and engagement.
