Module 1 –Discussion 1-2 What is your Capstone Topic? My Capstone will be on woman in Leadership position in corporate America. I will discuss the obstacles that some of the woman experience while in leadership position. Want to compare woman in leadership position in corporate America and woman in Leadership in other countries.
People are always focused on being the creator; they invent amazing innovations, but no one knows how to apply them. Rather than create an unusable, new technology, I’d like to focus on creating new purposes for the technology. Often the simplest solutions are the most brilliant. To think of the way to utilize and advance what is at hand is the challenge. My interest in technology was sparked by my own curiosity and fascination; since the 6th grade I would always check Yahoo News’s Science and Technology tab, taking my newfound knowledge of amazing new advancements and sharing it with my family at the dinner table.
I personally believe that UNC Wilmington will allow me to grow academically as a student as well as an adult. Being from a small town in Maine I have always been the type of person to try new things and live to the fullest. When I decided to go to college, my mind was set on staying close to home my first year and getting the feel of what it is like. I strongly feel I am a very independent person and enjoy the challenges of doing things on my own. I have changed my mind many times on a career path I wish to pursue I don’t find it easy for someone my age to know exactly what they want to do for the rest of their life.
My interests in technology did not come until later in my life; when I attended my first engineering and technology workshop. Back in the summer of 2012 I was accepted into the Rowan University’s Boys Engineering, Science, and Technology (BEST) Program. Throughout the event I was in awe and fascinated by what engineering had to offer. We built bottle rockets and constructed penny bridges, but what stood out to me the most was the hands on experience with computer programming.

My interest in the Computer Science major at Carnegie Mellon was first piqued while I was in the Microsoft Student Partners Program, where I met a Technical Evangelist from Microsoft who graduated from the course. The human race has got to see some of the top best inventions during the 20th century, for example- the radio, the airplane, nuclear power, automobile, and the one that has by far made human life easy and efficient is the computer. The invention of the computer has led to some of the most significant concepts, ideas, and inventions that eventually led to the evolution of human life. The computer is the most wonderful gift of science to the modern man. In this age of science and technology, humanity is witnessing an explosion of knowledge (Lyons, n.d.). Computer a machine that promises to beat man in various fields is one the latest useful inventions word today. The computer can do all the works of man.
