I am interested in attending the Marist Criminal Justice summer program because I want to learn more about the many careers in the criminal justice field. A criminal justice-related career is typically displayed on television on shows like “Bones” and “NCIS.” These shows probably do not accurately portray what a job in the criminal justice field is really like because they are meant for entertainment. I’m hoping to learn more about the realistic side of criminal justice in the Marist program. What interests me the most in this field is Forensic Science, the process of solving the crime and how forensic scientists and all of the other law enforcement agencies work together.
Over my short, seventeen-year lifetime, I have had passions in many areas, from geography to soccer to leadership. However, as I have grown older, I have had a growing passion for the schools in my area because they taught me everything that I know and have given me all the opportunities that I have taken advantage of. Because of this growing passion, I became involved in two very important organizations that influence the future of the Sartell – St. Stephen School District: the Community Schools Planning Initiative and the Sartell – St. Stephen Board Of Education. The Community Schools Planning Initiative was launched at the start of 2015 in order to come up with a vision for the future of the Sartell – St. Stephen School District and a plan to match that
As a future teacher, I feel that this form of practice is essential to educating our youth. Serving as an advocate of Americorps member I feel that this program would heighten my experience and knowledge of teaching.
Mr. Thelaw’s conduct would likely be considered extreme and outrageous when he manipulated Ms. Smartpants emotions in front of the class. Courts have reasoned that a defendant cannot deliberately attempt to manipulate the emotions of a plaintiff, for a perceived advantage over a plaintiff who is susceptible to emotional distress. The first chapter of “Law in America” by Lawrence M. Friedman is an introduction to the formation of the law system that we have in the United States today. The opening of the chapter depicts how Freidman starts his lectures, by reading the front few pages of the local newspaper to his very lethargic students who take his early class. At first, this seems odd given that this is not a political science class or media lecture. However, the logic behind this process is that in every “domestic” article in the news there is a connection to the law. Law is intertwined in almost every situation we face during, not only our day to day lives but also the very structure that forms the environment we live in.
I am applying at Archbishop Mitty High School because ¬it has a history of high academic excellence coupled with a competitive sports program. Mitty has an excellent reputation from what I hear and their sports teams are well regarded. I have gone to their sports camps so I have a good experience and a good glimpse of how Mitty and their sports teams will be like. I am currently aspiring to be on the Basketball team and I am going through different coaching camps to be a better basketball player.
I’ve been told that Loyola has great academics. This includes the honors
Through this program I hope to learn the fundamentals of community based research, how to advocate for health policy, a most importantly how to educate communities on health. I believe that is the most rewarding thing I can get out of this program. Having the ability, the power, to change someone’s life, by just giving him or her basic health care knowledge is so empowering. Knowing that I changed that life, that because of me hopefully their health will better instead of worsen. Through this program I hope to learn from the community, to learn their experiences, which will allow me to be even more conscious of the disparities they are forced to face, hence causing me to ponder “how can this issue be fixed?”, “what policy can be implemented”?.
the definition of Psychosocial is relating to the combination of psychological and social behavior. As such, I have grown to learn and understand moderately about the differences between psychosocial issues. These issues include social work which is the knowledge obtained from the combination of Sociology and Psychology and is applied to assist situations. Likewise, Criminal Justice focuses on the different aspects of the legal processes and rehabilitation of criminals. Furthermore, the issue of Sociology comprises of society being studied, this includes various groups and social institution in which we live in.
I would excel at Stevenson University because I would take advantage of the small campus size. I look forward to building rapport with my teachers and working with them to learn more and expand my interests. When challenging classes emerge, I will use my professors and fellow students to help me succeed. In addition, the small size of the university will allow me to network with others and build relationships that could perhaps last a lifetime. Finally, my outgoing personality will bring a fun and vibrant feel to the university.
Boston College Law was founded on September 29, 1969. The campus itself sits approximately 1.5 miles away from the main Boston College campus in Chestnut Hill, the law school sits on a 40-acre wooded campus in Newton, Massachusetts. The school houses approximately 800 students and 125 faculty members, making it the largest of BC’s seven graduate and professional schools. Boston College reflects on its Jesuit heritage by having three very well established programs with human rights law, social justice law, and public interest law. Boston College Law is often considered one of the best law schools in the nation and even ranks 34th for national law school according to US News and World Reports.
I have deep interests in worker’s rights, labor laws, public policy, and social justice initiatives in the workplace. These topics excite me because moving forward in these areas improves the personal lives of workers, workplace relations, and communities. My participation in debate club, Model U.S. Senate, the National Student Leadership Convention (NSLC) Political Action & Public Policy Program, and the Envision Intensive Law & Trial Program have shown me how important it is to research and discuss these issues from numerous viewpoints. These activities have not only expanded and solidified my interest in law and public policy, but have allowed me to closely examine issues from various perspectives, think logically, and work effectively in
Whenever I first began my law school search, SMU Dedman School of Law first caught my eye because of its academic reputation. Not only is it a well ranked school, but it has the resources and staff that will ensure my success as a lawyer. This is evident in the post-graduation employment statistics. There are many law schools that have high rankings but lack the high percent of graduates employed. This was especially important in my decision to apply to this law school.
I don’t know the specifics of what I want to do with my life, but I do know I want to make a difference through communication. I love speaking to groups, catching their attention, and inspiring them. Likewise, Annenberg encompasses everything that I need and want. The USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism creates students who will understand the communication revolution in many areas including education, politics, marketing.
This program membership will open new doors for me and make my high school and college experiences so much smoother. I think I will really benefit from having the college courses intermixed with my high school classes because I will be learning higher level information along with the high school work to challenge myself in Montco while having time in Pottstown High School to work on my electives. The program would keep me focused on
