Over my short, seventeen-year lifetime, I have had passions in many areas, from geography to soccer to leadership. However, as I have grown older, I have had a growing passion for the schools in my area because they taught me everything that I know and have given me all the opportunities that I have taken advantage of. Because of this growing passion, I became involved in two very important organizations that influence the future of the Sartell – St. Stephen School District: the Community Schools Planning Initiative and the Sartell – St. Stephen Board Of Education. The Community Schools Planning Initiative was launched at the start of 2015 in order to come up with a vision for the future of the Sartell – St. Stephen School District and a plan to match that

Growing up in a lower-middle class home, I have learned to be modest and frugal. I have also learned that nothing comes free and that everything must be earned through determination and hard work. So when I joined the Cub Scouts at age 7, I was determined to excel and achieve the highest rank in scouting, Eagle Scout. Since then, I have been intent on changing things for the better in everything I participated in. Ergo, having a lifetime goal to give back to the Earth, whether it be directly by studying chemistry to help the Earth or indirectly by donating some of my time and money back into the science field to help fund future developments of technology, seems best for the world.
I personally believe that UNC Wilmington will allow me to grow academically as a student as well as an adult. Being from a small town in Maine I have always been the type of person to try new things and live to the fullest. When I decided to go to college, my mind was set on staying close to home my first year and getting the feel of what it is like. I strongly feel I am a very independent person and enjoy the challenges of doing things on my own. I have changed my mind many times on a career path I wish to pursue I don’t find it easy for someone my age to know exactly what they want to do for the rest of their life.
For example, I have taught myself, through numerous years of practice, the frustrating game of golf, which proves to me again and again that I must always stay optimistic and keep a positive attitude or I will never improve. You stay upbeat when you are having an off day, and you enjoy the days when you play well. You take the bad along with the good. In golf and school alike, I love taking on the challenges that come my way because I know that if I don’t give up and hold onto my sense of optimism, my persistence and consistent effort will sooner or later pay
But, I learned to try to do something and to never give up. I try to do my homework even if it
Much like Annie Dillard in “The Chase” and Malcom X in “A homemade education”, I have learned a lot from being self taught, personal experiences, and my environment. I like Annie Dillard and Malcom X have taught myself many things. Aside from school and learning from my parents
Much to my dismay, from my first day I observed that high school was very similar to middle school. I was disappointed. Fortunately, with time I developed a new perceptive about it. I decided to appreciate the small improvements from middle school and to take most things in stride. I am making an effort to make the best
Everyone has a unique background and interest. A person’s background, interest, identity, or talent defines what kind of person they are. Usually, interests and talents are molded by background; leading to talents creating a certain type of lifestyle. My own background has influenced my interests and talents.
So I used a few of Jackie Robinson's nine values to help myself get through middle school. In elementary school I knew all the teachers and I liked all of them. After
I have grown up learning that you give respect you get respect and I have learned to keep that mindset no matter what. We always made everything fun and kept it enjoyable like today it makes the day go faster and I have always thought it worked and lived by that. Growing up on the farm kept me realizing you never run out of things to do. If it's from tinkering to running around tearing things apart. It helped me learn and figure out how things work and don’t take it for granite.
Personal Mission Statement I dedicate myself fully to achieve my goal of being accepted to study medicine at a tertiary institute by excelling academically in matric while going the extra mile to improve my intellectual abilities. I will continue to be a devoted Jew, a strong Zionist and proud supporter and defender of Israel and its right to exist. I will do the best I can to contribute to my friends, family and community and to leave a meaningful legacy as a “light unto nations.” I will strive to grow as a person and as a leader and focus on developing respect, responsibility and unconditional generosity in my personal life. I aim to find the balance between mind, body and soul to achieve happiness.
High School goes beyond academic lessons. Intellectual growth is just a step of the staircase of four years. To tell the truth, high school is a reflection of life, it is a place where principles and habits are formed, and most importantly where passions are born. It is a stairway of four years in which each day contains an opportunity for personal growth. A path full of achievements of all kinds; academic, athletic, personal, and social or a combination of all.
The Way I Learn “ What we learn with pleasure we never forget” by Alfred Mercier is an engraved plaque that sits on my desk in my classroom. I read this quote to myself everyday before class to inspire me, and remind me of the special person who gave me such an inspiring gift to me. I received this gift from the first student I tutored that set me on the path to become a teacher. But it took this class in Eductional Pyscholgy to make me really appreciate its meaning. It was through this person and class, I ‘ve grasped that people learn in many different ways, and by embracing the importance of this learning style’s for myself as well as in teaching exerts a powerful influence on a child’s ablity to do well in school.
