Or even made the High School transition a little rough and scary? Some may believe so, then again some may have been ready. From the first hand accounts of this year 's incoming freshman it can be said without a doubt, that they have had a smooth transition. Although it may have been hard, but it was an overall smooth one. All in all, the High School transition is different for everyone.
I was so excited to begin high school and attend the same school my father and uncles had attended. But, the beginning of my high school career was very difficult and challenging for me. In the beginning of my freshman year, I had a very hard time finding a group of friends that I could trust. The idea of popularity drowned me when I entered high school and I began to loose myself. I had a hard time focusing on my studies and this caused my grades to plummet.
“I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.” - Maya Angelou My four years as a student at Middle Creek High school have taught me endless amounts of knowledge, but a few memorable lessons that are not in a curriculum. Through challenges presented by teachers, responsibility only the toughest classes could teach, and the endless memories with peers and friends.
As a freshman the transition was some what difficult for me. These are somethings I think would be good to new for the middle schoolers that are tranistioning into highschool. First keep organized. I can 't stress that enough because if you don 't you will lose things really easy and become a real mess. Another thing is a personal opinion but I don 't think that going to your locker every passing period is a good idea.
As we walk the halls, we discuss what life will be like in high school, where the rooms are, and the best parts of high school. With each passing step, the freshmen speed up as they become more and more comfortable with this new home away from home. It seems as though they have matured in the few minutes that I have spent
“High school will be what you make it.” That was the sage advice one of my older relatives gave me a few days before I began my freshman year here at Columbia City High School. As I type this document a few years in the future, I can confirm that that advice is mostly true. As a young adult you can choose your friends, you can choose your extra-curricular activities, and to some extent, you can choose your classes. However, as a student you don’t really have the power or ability to bring change to the structure of the high school and its programs.
I have changed in high school the way that in middle school I really don’t like to be involved in any sports or even in student council, from last year I really don’t like any of those things, but now in high school is different. Now in high school I liked to be involved in something for example: sports. In high school is different because the way people changed. I remember when I was in middle school I just care about doing homework and don’t check about my grades, but now in high school I care about my grades and that I’m passing all my classes with a good grade. In middle school they give you an extra work to pass the class, but in high school they just give you the work and that’s it, they don’t give you an extra work to pass the class.
High School v.s. Middle School Many firmly believe middle school and high school are a lot different from each other. For one high school is a lot bigger than middle school not only in size, but also in amount of people. As you get older you tend to become more mature and responsible. Being in middle school, the students are straight up immature. In high school there is quite a bit more homework
Middle school was a confusing time for me; my parents had separated, we had moved to an area that had a tremendous amount of crime, and by my seventh grade year I no longer had an after-school program to attend. The center my brother and I attended lost its funding for teen programming. It wasn’t surprising that all of my core classes my 6th-grade year, were all “advanced.” I was one of two students who graduated my elementary school with all A’s.
I think coming to high school it was really different and scary. Coming to high school was a big change. Its way different from middle school, you have to take to your grades and work serious or else you won’t pass. If you don’t try and fail then that’s misleading you from graduating. You have to try your best and work hard if you want to make it out of high school in 4 years or earlier.
High school has impacted my life in so many ways. High School taught me so many things, from personal relationships to creating a relationship with my education. As a freshman, I made a huge amount of mistakes and I regret doing foolish things, but I’ve realized, I was only maturing into the young adult I am today. Freshman year, I was out of focus and I was only trying to find myself. I would also prioritize other things and ignore my parent’s advice, where they would tell me to focus in school and give it my full attention.
The past four years of my life hold both my highest of highs and my lowest of lows. High school can be a very awkward time period in a person’s life. Four years ago, I made the intimidating switch from St. Mary’s School to Algoma High School. There were certain aspects of high school which made me nervous, but academics was not one of them. I learned how to be a responsible student in my earlier years, and school had always come relatively easy to me.
My high school experience was a long, frustrating learning experience. I didn’t know what to expect, or what I was getting myself into. Nobody gave me the tools to understand the main focus of each year. I am going to give you tips and advice on how to succeed in high school. I will discuss 9-12th grade along with what to expect each year.
My first day of high school as a freshmen in a new level of education Is what I was thinking when I woke from slumber that morning in bed. Stepping foot on the campus wasn’t even the beginning, taking the school bus in the morning is where the first taste of being a freshmen and actually starting and being an high school student. I started to get really nervous and a sense of reality hit me. Walking towards the bus stop all I see is a huge group of high school students waiting around for the bus, calm and cool as I try to stay to be I approach the waiting area not knowing what to I’m getting into.
