The gym is buzzing, the bleachers are full of young freshman excited, yet nervous about the next level: high school. All of them are eager to find their locker and to learn where their classes will be. Each member of Flight Crew is introduced. Flight Crew consists of 12 seniors who mentor underclassmen. These young freshmen then split alphabetically into their assigned homerooms, and each group takes a tour of the school. As we walk the halls, we discuss what life will be like in high school, where the rooms are, and the best parts of high school. With each passing step, the freshmen speed up as they become more and more comfortable with this new home away from home. Currently, I am part of the Deerfield/Cambridge cross country varsity team as we seek to return to the Division two state championship for the second year in a row. With my running background, I plan to join a running clubs and to also encourage physical activity around the university. I will help to lead this movement towards being physically active by understanding the sciences behind the body. I am currently involved in both AP Biology and Advanced Chemistry at my school and I have always loved science classes. Within my science classes, I have found a passion for engineering and problem solving that cannot be matched. With my love of sciences, I plan to join engineering organizations at the collegiate level and to lead these organizations to the best they can be. My final interest and talent is in the music department, but specifically band and choir. I love music and have adopted it as a hobby because it inspires me and motivates me through its intricate patterns and rhythms. Band and choir will always be one of my interests at the collegiate level, and I plan to make these groups better in whatever ways
