As a high school senior, I had the privilege of learning and operating the light and sound board for every event at the high school. The teachers and administrators did not know much about the sound board, so I began doing research on the high school lighting and sound board. I was able to teach them more about the sound board. With all the research, audio engineering intrigued me even more and a passion developed for operating the light and sound boards My intentions for the future are to obtain an Audio Engineering Degree, buy quality sound and lighting equipment and to start my own business.
My education at Johnson County Community College will focus on obtaining a lighting and Audio Engineering Degree. With the learned skills from my audio and lighting professors, running any sound and light system should be straightforward. From the Business Professors, I will learn how to run and operate a business. From the General Education professors, I will deepen my knowledge of writing, speaking and math. Buying the highest quality equipment will help the business provide the best service. My goal is to have the Behringer x32, Digital snake, and 100 foot ethercon cable purchased by the end of the semester. The Behringer X32 sound board has great ascetics with seemless board functions that allows straight forward operation. The Digital Snake Box allows 32 channels and 16 outputs of freedom patch things down stage while I am at the FOH (Front of House). Next semester, my aim is to purchase the stage moving head lights. The lights are more complicated to buy. You need to have specific lights for specific events. I am in the process of deciding which kind to purchase first. After purchasing these items, I can start advertising lights and sounds for small
