Whether that be from the way you hear news, to the popularity system at an average highschool through Instagram likes, media representation will always be a vast and difficult concept to trudge through. In conclusion, the research on media representation of different cultures, as discussed in "In the old days there were no gays" by Ana Cristina Santos and "Media, Diversity, and Representation in the U.S." by Erica Scharrer, highlights the importance of promoting accurate and positive representation of diverse cultures.
