Although there are five emperors, I compare Augustus Ceasar to Marcus Arelius. They both had lots of achievements for their empire, which made them unforgettable. Marcus Arelius was a very successful man leading the Roman Army to a victory against the Parthian Empire in the eastern part of Central Europe. While fighting and defeating many other rulers he accomplished in the Marcomannic Wars. As same with Augustus Ceaser, he also had many wars that he was successful in.
By preselecting which events were to be released to the public, Augustus incorporated judgements of his own actions into the work. This directly prevented the people of Rome from effectively vetting the collection of exempla. It was impossible for Romans to judge negatively, for example, Augustus’ mercy in sparing the lives of foreign captives; yet if a Roman were witness to all the facts of the situation instead of the manipulated accounts of the Res Gestae, it is likely that Augustus’ exempla would have been less
But both men were had people following them because the people would believe them and trusted there leaders to lead them to greatness. Another good reason why we cant understand The Aeneid without understanding Age of Augustus is because most of the history of Age of Augustus is based on the story of Aeneas. If It wasn’t for Augustus there probably wouldn’t be a story made of Aeneas.

While Augustus claimed to have restored the republic through constitutional means, the historical evidence and opinion dominant at this time is that Augustus established a military monarchy by his intimate alliance with and support from the military to enforce and legitimize his rule, and accounts describe that he "...enticed the soldiers with gifts, the people with grain, and all men with the allurement of peace and gradually grew in power, concentrating in his own hands the functions of the senate, the magistrates, and the laws" Tacitus DOC
" we find out during his testimony that he feels sorry for Mayella and only stops by to help her because she seems to have no one else to do so. That statement Exhibits that he is just a kind and generous man that was trying to help but instead he got judged and accused for it, more than likely because he was a black man which meant he was thought of as
Julius Caesar Zakary Powers Julius Caesar, leader of Rome, had a overwhelming ego and it is shown many times throughout the play of, “The Tragedy of Julius Caesar”. One of the times Julius Caesar showed his overwhelming ego was towards the beginning of the play when the soothsayer warns Caesar about the “ides of march”. The second time Julius shows his ego is when he says that he is not afraid of anybody - and people may talk behind his back, but never to his face as they would be too scared. The third time Julius shows his ego when he ignores his wife’s caution and worries about going to the Senate. Julius Caesar overall is seen to be arrogant and he has a very large ego.
To Kill A Mockingbird Stereotypes Around the 1600’s many problems and conflicts had been happening, in today's society some of those problems are pretty much gone such as slavery and so on. But even today we face the same conflicts as before. In the book “To Kill A Mockingbird” by Harper Lee a problem that is occurring is stereotypes. Stereotypes are a fixed idea of someone or something.
Over his 45-year reign, Augustus implemented numerous building programs and completed many projects that were left uncompleted by his assassinated predecessor and adoptive father, Julius Caesar. According to ‘The Deeds of the Divine Augustus’, aqueducts had been repaired as well as 82 temples of gods through his reign. As well as this, on his ‘private land’ (Augustus, The Deeds of the Divine Augustus, 14 A.D.) he built the forum of Augustus, including the temple of Mars Ultor. Many other buildings in Rome including the temple of Caesar and the baths of Agrippa were built by Caesar, as well as the restorations of the Capitolium and the theatre of Pompey. Further more, he also built outside of the city of Rome, such as the theatre of Merida,
They have allowed him to speak his mind ad state his opinion, until it defied or came in conflict with the societal norms and ideology. These laws have given him birth, have raised him and educated him, and have shared the wealth of Athens with him and his fellow citizens. he wouldn’t have been who he was if these laws were
Consequences of Imperfections Many of the greatest leaders in the history of the world have been overthrown or usurped by anyone they had power over. These leaders were filled with arrogance, trusted the ones that killed them too much, or had another of many weaknesses that all people have. This is the case with many of the powerful characters in William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Julius Caesar. One of the main players, Marcus Brutus, has several flaws that can be seen as the reason for Brutus eventual death.
His experiences with stereotyping and prejudices are eye opening and help create a sense of sympathy for him, as well as other African Americans facing such biases. Modifying the way you go about your daily activities, trying to ease tension in others, and attempting to avoid conflict whenever possible is not a comforting way to live. We Americans need to look outside of our comfort zone and welcome what we may fear. This may not be as perplexing of a task as some may think, and it will initiate change in how we view people different from
1. The storm is at it’s height during the first part of the scene, when Casca meets Cicero and tells him of all the fearful things he has seen. The thunder and lightning enhance the ominous mood that is already set. It reflects the emotions of Casca, who is restless and fearful due to the sights he has seen.
Julius Caesar is a play full of pride, yes or no? I would think yes, so much that it can be a theme of the book. A theme that is still one today. Literary devices used by Shakespeare help show the pride of the characters in Julius Caesar. Some elements of fiction even show the theme of pride in this play.
FINAL PAPER: Race is currently a hot topic in contemporary society. How minority populations are represented in the media, literature, and other modes of communication is constantly criticized. Although, societies are slowly eliminating and punishing racial prejudices, they still exist. Stereotypical portrayals of non-white characters have existed in western civilization for thousands of years. Literature produced in a predominantly white European context has historically been plagued with politically incorrect renderings of minorities.
