Since the beginning of their existence, sports events have attracted a great deal of media attention, either in America, Europe, or elsewhere within the world. This interest toward sports allowed the media, such as television, radio or Internet to earn towering revenues thanks to a very fondly audience of sports competitions. Nowadays, another variety of sport, called e-sport, is starting to conquer the media through its originality. It is high-level competition in video games. In fact, it started establishing certain popularity over a bigger and bigger audience, and more and more players, called gamers, or pro-players. This is a considerable step for the recognition of gamers all over the world, and it shows the interest that some people have towards gaming. The Wall Street Journal related the story of a British bar in San Francisco: "The pub is known for showing European soccer and other sports, but Puma and MC aren't athletes. They are 20-year-old professional video-game players. The Koreans were fighting over a tournament prize of $50,000." (Efrati Pars. 2) The media could use more and more example such as this one, as time is going by. Indeed, there are e-sport encounters more frequently, and with a growing audience that is an essential factor in the rise of e-sport. Therefore, the fact that gamers are obtaining visas and scholarships, are able to leave on practicing their passion, and being broadcasted on television shows that they are considered as pro-players, a variety of athletes. This recognition clearly contributes to the growing audience and interest of e-sport. However, not all of the gamers are recognized as pro-players, earn visas, and are broadcasted on television. It is only a minority of them. Indeed, there is a down side of this story and many of them are not able to become popular as quickly as others. It requires tenacity and perseverance. Unsuccessful players will probably never realize their coveted dream of recognition as pro-players.
