I make it a personal policy in life to focus on the positive and on my strengths. I realize I have weaknesses, and I work to improve those using my strengths when possible. This strengths model is an anchor for who I am as a person. My parents instilled in me a strong work ethic. They also taught me that most people are not good at everything; we must identify our talents and use them. As I plan for my college career at Troy, I do so knowing that I will encounter new challenges and some difficulties, but I am well equipped to deal with this new chapter in my life. Troy has a culture and reputation of building success through hard work and embracing diversity. In the time I spent at Troy for Summer Theatre Intensive, this culture was evident. Students and faculty were welcoming and encouraged us to set high standards. I know I will enjoy a productive four years at Troy and plan to contribute to the culture by being involved, particularly in the area of performing arts. I have been blessed to compete at the state, regional, national and international levels. Theatre has offered me leadership experience through the State Thespian Society where I have serve as a State Officer. Additionally, I am honored to serve as a student choreographer and lead dancer in the Brandon Brio Show Choir. It is my goal in life to share these experiences with children from all walks of life. I have seen firsthand the resources needed in some performing arts areas, and it is my mission to help insure that no child is excluded due to a lack of resources.
