Since The federal government initiated The United States Postal/ Service (USPS) over two centuries ago, it has contributed billions of dollars into the American economy. For one they provided accessibility to communicate to Americans on the other side of the country. High demands cause for a boom in technological and transportation advancements. Business remained stable until the rise of the internet and the eventual introduction of electronic mail (e-mail) . As a result the USPS has been receding their market share against competitors. For example, they reduce their delivery dates and have dropped programs. In a market where the USPS seems to admit to their Doom, they must be as Fierce as possible to prevent it. They must provide new services and incentives.
Firstly, I must acknowledge strengths the USPS currently employs. Compared to its competitors, the USPS is greatly less expensive (Source D) for citizens who don't have money growing from a tree. (most, if not all don't) They rely heavily on the USPS for mail services. A large portion of the US has slow internet or none at all. Since the early 2000s, the amount of addresses has increased yet demand for physical mail has dropped. (source B) The adjustments that the postal service must make are clear; the USPS must begin to shift their focus to email. Generations who grew up with the internet are strongly dependent on it. Most teenagers use email which is an opportunity for the USPS to take advantage of. (source A) along with this, the USPS needs a powerful incentive to draw consumers, which can be enforced by providing electronic coupons to them. To save on costs, post offices that are in close proximity to each other can be discontinued. All these actions will resurrect the USPS back into the
