Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) is an assessment that was developed by Claire Ellen Weinstein, Ph.D., Ann C. Schulte, Ph.D., and David R. Palmer, Ph.D. This assessment is primarily used for college students. The LASSI consist of 10 categories and 80 questions, which assesses a students study habits, skills and strategies. The focus is on both covert and overt thoughts, behaviors, attitudes and beliefs that relate to successful learning (H&H Publishing, 2016). LASSI currently has a second edition, which is a seven-page booklet format that consist of 80 questions and self-scoring. The latest LASSI is the third edition, which is a computerized version consisting of only 60 questions and computerized scored.

The students are able to view their strong areas, areas for improvement and weakness areas. The LASSI scoring identify scores under the 50 percentile as a weakness category for a student. The 50-75 percentile area is good; however, some improvements may be beneficial for the student. The 75 percentile and above area is a strength for students. Students are able to identify their strong categories and weakness categories. The LASSI provides students with information on how to improve the low score categories by recommending supplemental resources such as tutoring, educational interventions, and utilizing academic resources.
The LASSI may be used to improve students study skills, used as a pre-post achievement measure, and as an evaluation tool. The second edition LASSI can be easily administered and self-scored in 30 minutes. The third edition web version LASSI can be administered in 10-15 minutes with instant computer scoring and printable explanations of each category. The LASSI provides valuable information to students, parents, and educators.

Information Processing (INP)
The Information Processing Scale assesses how well students ' can use imagery, verbal elaboration, organization strategies, and reasoning skills as learning strategies to help build bridges between what they already know and what they are trying to learn and remember, i.e., knowledge acquisition, retention and future application (H&H Publishing, 2016).
