I came from a family that values international sights, we traveled a lot to places in Taiwan and to other countries in the world. It's also one of the reasons why my family supports my education abroad even if that would keep our family apart.
The identity of being the second daughter and a female is sometimes challenged by my culture and social standards. Especially when I have received education from sociology for one year and traveled to many countries, I have noticed some unfair situations and common regulations added on me. What a girl or a daughter should do to fit social standards had been bothering me from time to time. The inequalities among genders still exist and sometimes happen in my family, and it is bad to oppose ideas from elders in many cultures including mine.

I applied for a kitchen job in a pastry and I went to work with my parents as an assistant in the company when I didn't have shifts so I could fill in the gap before winter quarter started. This was the first time I had the chance to witness running a business in real practice, sometimes I wish I could stay longer so I could learn more. The fact that managing a business fascinated me was what made me more positive on applying for a business school, and that was why I chose Associate in Business Degree in Bellevue College.

Some people might say that I have wasted 2015 studying in an irrelevant field and is one year behind people of the same age, but I think 2015 was special because I got to see a clearer path to my future and was able to carry out my plan in 2016. I treat 2015 as the year to know myself and what I want better and I was lucky to do so while most of my friends lacked the opportunity.
