Hot Pockets were developed by Paul Merage and David Merage(Brother), through their company Chef America Inc. Chef America invented a packaging sleeve and dough formula to keep its calzone-like sandwiches crispy when cooked in a microwave. In 1980, Chef America introduced its first stuffed sandwich, the Tastywich, the predecessor of the Hot Pocket.[3] Hot Pockets supplanted Tastywiches in 1983, first sold to restaurants because they were easier to break into than retail stores.[3] On May 22, 2002, Chef America was sold to Nestlé. Hot Pocket products were "a $2 billion category of frozen sandwiches and snacks".[4] Breakfast style Hot Pockets were introduced in 2001.[5] Sales[edit] Citing reduced sales, in 2011 Nestlé announced that
The most popular dishes included chili, beans, and tortillas, sometimes even put together. Dishes also included tacos, fajitas, burritos, stuffed chili peppers, chorizo, churros, enchiladas, salsa, pico de gallo, nachos, and guacamole (Nenes 258). Different kinds of sauces and beans were cooked to go with the main dishes. Braised, ground, barbequed, and shredded meats were common to find in the main dishes like tacos and fajitas. Flour tortillas were used mostly and a blend of chesses were used.
Across the Lifespan: School-aged Paper The location of the observation took place at Chuck E. Cheeses, located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The 5-year-old girl was naturally observed in the evening for 30 minutes. Her occupation being observed was leisure, which is defined as, “Non-obligatory activity that is intrinsically motivated and engaged in during discretionary time, that is, time is not committed to obligatory occupations such as work, self-care, or sleep” (Parham & Fazio, 2008, p. 252). The category under occupation that represents leisure would be leisure exploration, since the girl was Exploring and learning what may or may not interest her.
Setting The observation was conducted at the Panera Bread restaurant located in River Forest, Illinois at around 5:00 P.M. on Thursday on the 15th of September. When I arrived at the restaurant, I chose a seat close to the door so as to better observe people coming up to the counter to order. I looked around and did not see any children, the restaurant was mostly populated with college aged people and a few elderly folks. Approximately a half hour later, I observed a white, brunette female with a short ponytail, in her mid-thirties enter the restaurant with a girl of approximately five years of age with a similar brunette ponytail in tow.
The Characteristics of Laurel "Brownies" written by ZZ Packer is an unusual short story about racial segregation amongst young African American and white Brownie troops. The story takes place in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. The narrator, Laurel also known as "snot" is sort of an outkast amongst the other troops. Laurels peers set out on a mission to beat the white girls of troop 99 up, because they thought that they heard the girls use a derogatory word. The black troops are clueless to the fact that the white girls are different, and meant no harm by using the word.
Introduction The observation took place in Panera Bread on October 7, 2015. It lasted one hour, and went from 5:15 PM to 6:15 PM. Five adolescents were observed, within the confines of 3 separate social bubbles. My focus was divided between on a group of 3 white females, aged around 18-19, one black male, aged 17-19, and one white white female, aged 12-13.
Brownies is a short story written by ZZ Packer. She writes this story from the perspective of a fifth-grade girl in a brownie troop. This first-person narrative gives the story an interesting view of the world through the eyes of a young girl going to camp. Our narrator, has a nickname given to her by the girls in the brownie group. “I had been called ‘Snot’ ever since first grade, when I’d sneezed in class and two long ropes of mucus had splattered a nearby girl” (Packer 42).
The temptation to eat junk at work is still there. The office is a bit chaotic at the moment so I am having to get through my meals quickly. The upside of eating home-cooked meals is that I am saving money in the long run. I have been trying out new recipes that I found at the American Diabetes Foundation website and they are awesome. I could live off of Shepard 's Pie and the Tailgate Nachos.
Most of the time they were fed rice with a little water, when they did eat most of the time they would get sick because they
The novel Strange as this Weather Has Been by Ann Pancake, displays the destruction caused by mountain top removal of the Appalachian Mountains in a small town in West Virginia, and the struggles it has created for a family that inhabits the mountain. Pancakes description of the land and those who inhabit it displays the relationship between the characters and the mystery behind the coal mining throughout the novel. Throughout the novel, Pancake displays the numerous struggles Lace and Jimmy Makes family face, many of which were directly a result of the coal mining taking place in their back yard. One character that is greatly affected by the results of coal mining, not only on the environment, but on her town as a whole, is Bant, Lace and
In the morning they had coffee, or boiled water with what looked like coffee beans. That is what they had for breakfast. Period. For lunch, the survivors ate a very watered down soup with the ingredients consisting of potatoes, rutabagas, and flower. To top it all off, for dinner the prisoners ate bread, a little piece of sausage, and a tablespoon of either marmalade or cheese.
The Harlem Renaissance. These three words changed African-American history forever. One of the greatest accomplishments of the Harlem Renaissance was the sense of hope and opportunity it offered the black community. Despite this great progressive movement, racism, colorism and traditional gender roles were still a great influence in the urban affairs of the Harlem Renaissance. Through facing their many adversities, they expressed their troubles through different forms of art.
They were delicious because they had a sweet taste with the syrup. I loved the breakfast, but I still couldn’t help but imagine what kind of fun adventures the others were doing. When I was done, I went back to the living room to watch some Netflix movies with my younger brothers. They ended up choosing a kid’s movie that had to do with a couple of wolf pups that got separated from their pack and were trying to find their way back. I don’t really remember the name of the movie, either way I still enjoyed watching the
To start off, they cook the chicken and roast the green chilies. Then they sauté the onions and garlic. In the same pan they put cream of mushroom soup, pieces of the shredded chicken breast, and chopped green chilies. My sister usually adds some milk into mixture as well. They then take corn tortilla and lightly toast them in a skillet.
