Subcultures Vs Majority Culture

The complexity and diversity inherent to mankind as a defined group have enabled throughout history the formation of small groups with common characteristics. This is where subcultures arise, which are social groups that can be identified by factors such as ideology or the behaviors they adopt. The term subculture is because, generally, are minority groups to large majorities in certain moment of history. In this sense, and consequently the minority position of subcultures, often they are suppressed, so that many of the elements that identify them end up being affected, trying to avoid any kind of conflict with the dominant culture. However, in a society like the present, in which predominate rights and obligations, where cultural diversity prevails and we are all different, it is not possible to consider such situations. Therefore, my position is that subcultures can live and develop normally in conjunction with the dominant culture, without being necessary to sacrifice that identify the subcultures as a group. There are many reasons why we argue that both minority subcultures as the majority culture can coexist without compromising each other. As first reason we emphasize that the Subcultures may, serve as mechanisms to contain conflicting priorities that may otherwise be widespread and potentially more difficult to manage at the organizational level (Chatman & Boisnier, 2002). Thus, the majority culture is kept safe from the problems that generate different thoughts
