Aleksa Djuraskovic Mrs. Pasic Language and Literature Thursday, February 5, 2015 Chapter 18 “Ship Taken” In chapter 18 of Airborn the three protagonists team up to defeat the antagonist before its too late. Throughout this chapter Matt demonstrates courage and friendship, Kate shows true leadership and Bruce portrays persistency. When Bruce was telling the story how he got to the ship and saw the pirates get on to it, it showed that even though he hardly made it to the ship with his wounded leg he did not give up and he went wandering through the forest to try to find Matt and Kate. Then Matt decided to check out the rest of the ship by going to the A deck through the vents, he saw 8 pirates in total. He listened to them talk about what they were going to do with the Aurora, the pirates said they would kill the crew, gut the ship and send it of on fire in the air. This shows that Matt is extremely brave in this chapter because he was spying on the pirates and going through vents. Then Matt went to the B deck where strangely, there were no pirates. He took the medicine for Bruce and sleeping elixir so he could put the pirates to sleep, then he set off to find Bruce. This also shows that Matt was a really good friend by risking his life to save another life. Then when they all found each other they decided to fly the ship, Bruce went to cut the mooring lines, Matt and Kate were responsible for stopping the pirates. When they all decided who is going to do what Matt and Kate settled of towards the kitchen to give Vlad the sleeping elixir for him to put in the pirates food. On their way they ran into pirates and then fast they hid and heard them talking about what they were going to do
