In this article, ''Computer-assisted reminiscence therapy: developing practice,''(December 2013) Alan Pringle and Sharlotte Somerville explain an experimental project in which the use of new technology helps to recover the patient with dementia. According to the authors reminiscence therapy works very well for the patients with short-term memory loss . As the Dementia starts becoming chronic it can lead the patient to physical and mental behavior disorders. Pringle and Somerville discusses in the article that reminiscence therapy helps to cure Dementia by making a connection with a patient ,so patients can trust nurses and response to reminiscence therapy. They explained the procedure of treating Dementia patients with the real life examples and also by supporting their opinions with the research. However, I think this research and real life examples are not enough for the reader to make a decision that either they should adopt this way of treatment for their loved ones or not. As a reader I would like to have more details on this kind of treatment. I would like to know how much private they keep all the information, pictures and videos of the patients in the tablets or computers. In the article they did not mention that for how long the patients can use these tablets or computers. My family friend's dad is a patient of Dementia. She was telling me that his dad cannot spend even a minute alone. He needs someone to be with him all the time because he cannot handle himself alone. One day he was coloring in a book and he forgot how to open the cap of the pen and it took him almost five minutes to figure out this with the help of nurse. Therefore, according to me a patient with any kind of memory loss disease cannot just depend on these tablets or computers for the improvement or for better behavioral actions. What if the patient forgets how to skip the pictures or play the video? After reading the article and putting all these issues together I came to this conclusion that may be this therapy with the mixture of new technology can improve patients' health and behavioral action but they also need someone who understands them to be them while they are having this
