In the “Achievement of Desire”, Richard Rodriguez, shows how hard it is for a scholarship boy to balance academic world and the life of a working class family. As a child, Richard Rodriguez was always a really good student who got many awards due to his hard work at school. On the other hand, he also had to sacrifice his relationship with friends or with his family to achieve that many awards or to be that exceptional student that he was.
