The title of the book I read was called “Lockdown: Escape From Furnace” created by Alexander Gordon Smith. The lockdown was published on March 5, 2009, and consist of 237 pages. Lockdown is a thriller which is about a young teenager trying to survive and escape the horror of “The Furnace” a maximum-security prison deep underground for young offenders filled with psychopaths and gangs while showing a dark, gory, scary reaction to the readers, while shill showing some humor to the book.

The book starts off with the main protagonist named Alex Sawyer grew up in a bad neighborhood and would rob people off the street and steal from houses. After wanting to stop robbing his friend Toby, urged him to take one last job, who had enough electronic equipment to entertain a small country. As both boys enter the house and took the equipment four men with the gas mask and covered with black with silencers ( as shown on the cover of the book) came inside the house and grabbed Toby and shot him in the head cold blood. They gave Alex a gun to frame him for a crime he didn’t commit. Following captured and taken to court, the judge does not believe him and sends him to the Furnace for an act of murder. …show more content…

Later on, he meets his cellmate named Donovan another protagonist in the book. As Alex learns the ropes of The Furnace he sees Montgomery being tormented by a gang called The Skulls. Alex beats up the Skulls to save Montgomery life. But the Skulls grab him and leave Alex to die and get eaten by the mutated dogs. Zee saves them while killing one of the Skull members leaving Alex on the Skull kill
