My Brother Sam is Dead was a novel written by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier in 1974. This novel is set in Redding, Connecticut, a small and insignificant Tory town, during the Revolutionary War. The story revolves around the Meeker family; Tim, a young boy of 13, Sam, Tim’s older brother of 16, Life, Tim’s father,a loyalist and tavern keeper, and Mother. The story is told from the view of the protagonist, Tim, as he grows and experiences the struggles of war and how it affects everyday life.
