I agree with Tamara Steckler and accept her overall idea that society is responsible for the problem of juvenile crimes, and we cannot discuss or implement reform until society addresses the root problem of this issue. I support Steckler's argument because reform should be taken place to figure out the root cause of the high percentage rate of incarceration amongst adolescents.

" Reform efforts must be [in action to have] … a meaningful action plan to reduce racial disproportionality"(1).She also asserts that for reform to be put into action, society has to access all the feasible possibilities such as the community the adolescent subside in and their up bring. Steckler insist that society need to take a broader look into the insidious issue that result into disproportionality in the juvenile detention centers. It is obvious that Steckler wants to address the root issues but, in order to do so reform has to be in place so the issues could be address. Those who are unfamiliar with the issues about the juvenile justice system, would quickly disagree with Steckler's claim that the majority of the juveniles behind bars are minorities, which result from racial disproportionality. I agree with Steckler claims that a child should not be taken away from their home and place in either a detention center or foster home.
