Barbarous Brother The Scarlet Ibis is a short story written by James Hurst where two brothers, William Armstrong whose nicknamed Doodle, the narrator, Brother whose name is not mentioned in the story. The story was written from a perspective in which the narrator recalls these events from his childhood and growing up with his younger brother.
