In the piece, “Upon This Rock,” by John Jeremiah Sullivan, the author takes us with him on his journey to a Christian Rock festival called Creation. At first, he seems skeptical because of his trouble with the Crossover Festival and he worries about what might happen while he is trying to do his research. Once he arrives at Creation, Sullivan notices that the Christians he encounters are mostly younger the age of eighteen and that roughly one hundred percent of them were white. He depicts them in a way that makes the reader think they are abnormal or different. In the book Bridge to Terabithia, the bridge symbolizes a lot to Jesse and how his life has changed. To begin with, Jesse wanted to honor Leslie by building a bridge to symbolize their everlasting friendship. In addition, the building of the bridge not only shows that the magic was never in the rope nor was it Leslie, but has always been the heart of a person determined to find Terabithia. Furthermore, Jesse believed that when the rope snapped it seemed to be the end of the enchantment of Terabithia. The city of Visegrad is marked in eastern Bosnia by the border of Serbia. The inhabitants in this city is where the novel The Bridge of Drina by Ivo Andric is based during this challenging time being faced by civilians living during the Ottoman Empire control. From conversations and discussions in class this town had a mix of religious inhabitants such as Christian Orthodox, Jews, Gypsies, Muslims and Islamic traditions and the ethnic groups like the Serbs, Turks, Bosnians, and other Eastern European countries bordering were witnesses to the control of the Ottomans.

His love towards Catherine is his tragic flaw "the defect of character that bring about the protagonist downfall in tragedy"(baldick,206). Eddie brought up his niece and fall in love with her.

Miller does this by using different characters to portray different sides of masculinity. Eddie and Marco are portrayed as the right way to be a man, whereas Rodolpho plays the softer, kinder side to masculinity. The ideal man, as portrayed in the play, is to be strong, independent and to provide income for your family, as Eddie and Marco do.
