The Mansion: A subprime parable, a story written by Michael Lewis who talks about how he and his family rented a mansion they could not afford. The mansion was so big as he described that they had two of what normal people needed on of, such as dining rooms and kitchens. There was more space than they needed, many things that they did not quiet. The bills were a surprise because of how much they had to pay for things they did not use, take water for example, they were not the ones to use that much water but the mansion was, for the pool, sprinklers, and fountains.

All the kids in his children's school wanted to be invited to a mansion and that is all they wanted. Lewis's kids hated when people asked them if this was their home, or when people say ''you must be rich'' just because they lived in this mansion. Also his kids felt the urge that they had to always dress as the '' girls who lives in the mansion''.
Secondly, the author explains how he did not need this mansion, but only thought he did. He also says that what he did has brought a lot of problems to people who have done the same, like the Gracias for example whom he mentioned in his story. The thing is they did not rent a house they bought just because they thought it was their dream home. But as time went by they could not offered the house and were facing evection.
